Wild Words

Director of 3D

Wild Words is an 11 episode Noggin original series aimed at teaching kids new vocabulary words. Noggin original characters dance along with your favorite Nick Jr. characters in this multi-property series that combines multiple different looks into a mixed-media art style.

I worked closely with the Animation Director and Art Director to define the visual style of the series and developed a production pipeline to create new original characters under tight deadlines. The rigging team created a modular rigging system to rapidly build characters made from simple clay looking shapes allowing animators to easily break the rigs and push character silhouettes to achieve the stop-motion claymation style.

During development, I provided feedback on scripting to keep the series within scope and on budget. In production I directed a team of artists across modeling, rigging, surfacing, lighting and compositing on all episodes. I modeled a few characters, props, and composited on most episodes.
